Medical Conditions and Material Facts Warranty

This policy is issued based on the information you have provided when applying concerning the health of all insured persons, their relatives, their travelling companions and also close business associates. This policy contains certain exclusions and conditions which will relate to the medical information provided. If you are in any doubt about what information you need to disclose, or whether you are eligible for cover, you should contact EHICPlus by email to info@ehicplus.com or by telephone on 08450 555 222.

Your enquiry will be handled confidentially and you will be advised of the extent of cover which can be provided.

Material facts: You MUST tell us all material facts which include the previous medical history of all persons to be insured. A material fact is one which is likely to influence the insurers decision to accept the risk, or the level of cover which is provided. Failure to fully disclose all material facts may result in your policy being declared invalid or affect payment of any subsequent claims. If you are in any doubt about whether a fact may be material or not you should declare it.

This includes:

1. The medical history of any insured person or that of a travelling companion, relative or close business colleague or other person on whose state of health a decision by you to cancel or curtail a trip depends.

2. On-going Health Warranty: If, after buying an Annual Multi-Trip policy but prior to booking a trip to be covered thereunder a material fact becomes known or changes you must notify us and we reserve the right to impose special terms. If you are in any doubt as to whether a fact is material you should contact EHICPlus to seek guidance. If you do not, this may result in your claim not being paid.


You will NOT be covered:

1. For any trip where at the time of taking out this insurance, (and in the case of Annual Multi-trip at the time of booking each trip), the person whose condition gives rise to a claim:
a. is waiting for an operation, hospital consultation (other than for regular check ups for a stable condition) or other hospital treatment or investigations, or are awaiting the results of any tests or investigations; or
b. has received a terminal prognosis; or
c. is travelling against medical advice or for the purpose of obtaining treatment.
Please note: The above exclusion applies not only to you, but also to close relatives or other non-travellers on whom the trip depends.

2. If at the time of taking out this insurance you answer 'YES' to any of the 'Medical Screening Criteria Questions' and fail to complete the Medical Screening online.


Medical History Declaration

If you answer YES to one or more of the following questions you must use the Medical Screening system on this website to confirm acceptability of cover:

You or another person to be insured has or has had a physical or mental condition which you/they is/are known to suffer from at the time of applying for this insurance or for which he/she had received medical treatment or advice during the 60 months immediately preceding the date of application. Medical advice or treatment is deemed to be:


1. A consultation with your GP or any other doctor (either at home or at the surgery), other than for minor ailments such as the common cold.

2. Treatment at any hospital (either outpatient or inpatient).

3. Any medical tests, examinations or referral to a specialist for the same.

4. Any prescription for medications, or repeat prescriptions for the same.
